These Ghosts

On that fleeting edge of dream and awake,
she’s there.
Sometimes I remember how the bed smelled like her
the next morning.
I try not to think of it-
Hair on pillow, breath on the back of my neck,
her laugh, play, the joyful abandon,
each one of her being
-these ghosts-
of fleeting moments.
